*We gauge ProfVal, LLC's success along two core dimensions: i) our ability to deliver high-quality services, and ii) our social impact. Our Give2Get campaign helps us to ensure that our giving focuses on educational causes aligned with the local, national, and international communities that we and our clients represent.  When you (our customers) make a donation to a nonprofit (or suggest new ones), you are influencing our giving programs.

Nonprofits and social programs can learn more about our GIVE&GIVE campaign and apply to become a charity that we support.  To apply to become an organization we support, please visit our funding page to learn about inclusion criteria.

ProfVal's Focus on Education

All else equal, education provides women and men with opportunities for cognitive, personal, and wage growth. As per the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, compared to someone with a high school diploma, a college graduate’s annual earnings are nearly double.[i] However, education—and therefore opportunity—is unequally distributed. In fact, the educational attainment of economically disadvantaged students lags years behind children from wealthy families.[ii] From a young age, educational disparities contribute to lower levels of cognitive development, educational success, future income, and other forms of achievement. In the U.S. and internationally, these disparities continue into college, where elite colleges in particular accept a higher proportion of wealthier students.[iii] These differences in educational attainment along lines of wealth, race, gender, and other social and economic factors ultimately perpetuate inequality for future generations. Education is an equalizer, but only if it is equal.

ProfVal seeks to play a small part in making education a little bit more equal. In our work, we try to help U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) agents transparently evaluate the credentials of talented foreign individuals who hope to work in the U.S. Among other benefits, our services therefore help U.S. companies, reduce offshoring of jobs because U.S. companies are able to employ talent in the U.S., and enable talented people with strong educational credentials to contribute to the United States of America. In other words, our company’s services play a small role in the demand side of educational transformation by facilitating the hiring of talented individuals with strong credentials.

Our philanthropic efforts focus on the supply side of educational transformation. By contributing our resources to causes related to early childhood education, scholarships, teacher training, STEM initiatives, and other worthy education programs, we play a role in fueling the achievements of future generations.

The primary way that ProfVal makes money is through Expert Opinion Letters that are used to support employment-based visa applications.  Expert Opinion Letters provide an important role in employment-based visas.  Experts, who are typically professors at U.S. colleges and universities, provide their opinion explaining to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) agents whether or how an individual's background, a work position, or a combination of both align to USCIS immigration requirements.  All experts that we work with sign documents related to our ethical and business responsibility requirements.
